What is a Hydrilla Gnat?
A Hydrilla Gnat is the common fisherman's name for the Asian Hydrilla Leaf Mining Fly (Hydrellia pakistanea). If you are not familiar with these gnat like flies, please come on down and we will introduce you to a few gazillion of our closes friends.
Hydrilla Gnats, like many of the most savvy of fishermen, swarm in and around hydrilla patches for most of the warm months of the year. So it was only appropriate that we pay tribute to one of nature's most annoying creatures by naming our Bass club after it.
The Hydrilla Gnats Bass Club is a community based, BASS Affiliated, organization located on the legendary waters of Lake Seminole. A 38,000 acre bass factory in Southwestern Georgia. Home to numerous BASS National Tournaments and recognized as one of the best bass fishing lakes in the country.
Our home is the world famous Wingate's Lunker Lodge. The namesake of Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame member, and really cool cat, Jack Wingate.
