Who is the man? Who had enough courage to walk across the Hydrilla Gnats stage with one of the smallest stringers ever weighed on Lake Seminole. Don't let your head hang low, stand proud, let everybody know that Mike Sloan is the Classic King.

For those of you that think I am picking on Mike, have no fear. The rules were simple. In a world of competitive fishing that is dominated by large weights and ginormous sow belly toadies, the Hydrilla Gnats laughed in the face of the establishment and had a slot limit tournament that only allowed 12 to 14 inch fish to be weighed in.

The Master of small fish, Mike Sloan, aka Cheif High Socks, utlilized his lifelong honed skills of catching the these elusive slotties to secure himself a spot in the Hydrilla Gnats history books.

Mike's technique was simple, fish areas where smaller fish always spend their time. Don't burn any gas and only crank the big motor to go in for breakfast, lunch or the occasional snack. Oh yeah. And don't catch the bigger fish.

The breakfast, lunch and snack seemed to be the easiest part of his strategy as finding the smaller fish seemed to be a little harder than expected. But, when all was said and done, Mike took the crown and walked away with one of the most sought after awards in bass fishing today. Double-click here to edit the text.
